Assurance for Avid|DS
Avid
Assurance for Avid|DS covers the integrated system,
which includes both the hardware and software. This
includes technical support, version upgrade benefits,
and defective media replacement. The purchase of every
Avid|DS system includes ninety (90) days of Avid|DS
Assurance coverage, commencing from the date at which
the system is shipped. Every Avid|DS full version
upgrade includes thirty (30) days of Avid|DS Assurance
coverage.
Avid,
SGI, and Intergraph offer optional assurance upgrades
that can enhance the basic coverage in a variety of
ways, including contract duration extensions beyond the
initial terms of coverage. Your reseller may also choose
to offer optional support services beyond the offerings
available from Avid, SGI and Intergraph. The exact
contents of any extended support program will vary
depending on your particular needs.
Once
the initial Avid|DS Assurance period has ended, coverage
may be renewed on an annual basis. For details, call

is provided for all usage issues with the current and
previous release of Avid|DS. System configuration
support is provided for version 2.0 and after.

Avid Assurance 7 x 24 for Avid|DS
In
our continued effort to commit to your success with
Avid|DS, we have set up a 7 x 24 telephone support
program for resellers and customers. This service will
ensure your productivity and minimize your down time.
Avid Assurance 7 x 24 for Avid|DS is available in North
America only between 9:00pm and 9:00am EST. There is an
additional charge for this extended support.

Version
Upgrade Benefits
Avid|DS
Assurance includes free software maintenance and quick
fix releases, and significant reductions on the cost of
feature release upgrades. The type of version upgrade is
indicated by the number of characters used in the
version number. A version release with 2 Identifying
release characters (ie: version 3.0) indicate a types
feature release; a 3 character version (ie: 3.01) being
a software maintenance release. QFEs are usually named
according to the fix and are not identified by a version
number.
